The multi-award winning musical Chicago has returned to the West End this Spring, as the acclaimed UK and internationally touring production transfers to London’s Phoenix Theatre from March 2018 for previews, with booking already extended through to October. A fresh burst of Razzle Dazzle and All That Jazz will once again light up the West End, 5 and a half years since it last played in London’s Theatreland.
Cuba Gooding Jr, heading the cast, will star as Billy Flynn for his British stage and musical theatre debut. Ruthie Henshaw takes on the role of Mama Morton with Roxie Hart being played by Sarah Soetaert.
City Furniture has supplied the Bentwood chairs to be used in the iconic chair dance scene performed during the “Cell Block Tango” in which six female inmates describe the circumstances that led to their imprisonment. Each seated on a wooden chair, they take turns dancing and singing as the explain why their man “had it coming”!
